The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia is once again sponsoring a trip to Israel this winter with Birthright Israel.
The free 10-day trip, organized by Amazing Israel, is designed for members of the Greater Philadelphia Jewish community, ages 22 to 26; it will depart on Dec. 30 from John F. Kennedy International Airport and return on Jan. 11.
Participants will discover Israel’s historical landmarks and breathtaking views as they learn about Israeli culture from Israeli peers. They will also have the opportunity to visit the Jewish Federation’s Partnership2Gether region of Netivot and Sedot Negev as well as other programs funded by the Jewish Federation.
Birthright Israel, which was launched in 1999, provides young Jewish adults ages 18 to 26 with a free, 10-day educational trip to Israel. Since its inception, Birthright has sent over 500,000 individuals to Israel. The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia is a significant funder of Birthright, in order to allow local young people to have an Israel experience.
The Jewish Federation’s support of Birthright helps the Jewish Federation’s Center for Israel and Overseas connect the local community with Jews in Israel and around the world. The Center for Israel and Overseas provides many additional opportunities for travel to Israel through its missions program. During the 2013-14 program year, the Jewish Federation sent more than 1,900 Philadelphians to Israel.
Registration for the winter 2016 trip opens on Sept. 8; however, pre-registration is now available. If you or someone you know is interested in applying, visit http://amazingisrael.com/
