On Thursday, July 16, more than 150 members of Greater Philadelphia’s real estate community came together on Independence Mall for Jewish Federation Real Estate (JFRE)’s Market East panel discussion, followed by a networking reception.
The event kicked off at The Dow Building’s Diamond Room with opening remarks from Jeff Bartos, making his first public appearance as the new Chair of JFRE. Bartos announced that JFRE has awarded $128,500 to six transformative projects locally and in Israel this year through the JFRE Fund thanks to the commitment of JFRE members and sponsors. He also noted JFRE has begun to review possible projects to fund for the 2015-2016 program year, in an effort chaired by Jake Reiter and Spencer Yablon, JFRE’s Allocation Chairs.
Guests then enjoyed an exclusive discussion on the resurgence of Market East from expert panelists John Connors, managing partner of The Brickstone Companies; Jack Ferguson, president and CEO of the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau; Bill Glazer, president and CEO of Keystone Property Group; Dan Herman, senior vice president of development of PREIT; and Dan Killinger, managing director, development of National Real Estate Development. The discussion was led by moderator Mitch Marcus, managing director of JLL.
Following the panel discussion, attendees made their way to the Independence Beer Garden for a networking reception, where they talked with real estate colleagues and enjoyed an open bar and vegetarian appetizers.
The event was made possible thanks to the generosity of sponsors New America Power and Blank Rome LLP and to the leadership of Event Chairs Jeremy Fogel and Michael Markman. JFRE is the real estate affinity of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, which enables professionals to connect with each other, fulfill their professional goals and participate in impactful philanthropy.
