The Jewish Exponent took first prize in the annual American Jewish Press Association Awards for Best Digital Outreach.
The accolades keep coming for the Jewish Exponent. Putting an exclamation point onto an already award-winning year, the Exponent received first place from the American Jewish Press Association for Outstanding Digital Outreach in Division A, which encompasses newspapers with circulation of 15,000-plus subscribers, broadcast and magazines.
The award, which was based on criteria including website functionality and design, social media campaigns, e-newsletters, apps and mobile sites, and general creativity and innovation, reflected the work of the Exponent’s digital team, which included former executive editor Lisa Hostein, former director of digital media Deborah Hirsch, former multimedia reporter Amishai Gottlieb and marketing director Joshua Hersz.
This was the second Rockower won by the Exponent in 2015; the publication’s quarterly magazine, Inside, garnered first place in Overall Graphic Design for magazines and supplements. The award was cited to Joe Kemp, the magazine’s former design director, and his work on the magazine’s summer, winter and fall issues.
In addition to the Rockowers, the Exponent also racked up five awards in the 2015 Professional Keystone Press Awards and two more from the state’s Society of Professional Journalists and six awards in the 2015 Philadelphia Press Association Awards.
The wins, for work in 2014, brings the Exponent’s award totals in 2015 to 15.
