Congregation Schooled in the Beauty of Art

Congregation Ohev Shalom of Wallingford showcases work by students of the Chester Charter School for the Arts.

For art’s sake, Congregation Ohev Shalom in Wallingford hosted an exhibit of works by students at the Chester Charter School for the Arts, with whom the congregation has had a long relationship on projects. At the opening in the Growing Together Pop-Up Gallery (from left) are Rabbi Jeremy Gerber; CCSA kindergarten scholars Taveon Jones and Aniya Woods; Sarah Abramovitz, administrator of the synagogue’s grant that helped endow the show; Akosua Watts, CCSA principal; and Jay McEntee, board president of the Chester Fund for Education and the Arts, which also gives money to the school.
