Area pre-teens came away with a batch of medals for their efforts in the Junior Maccabi Games, held on May 3 at and around the Kaiserman JCC.
They swam, they had hoopla, they netted a fun time on the tennis courts: What else could it be but the Mid-Atlantic Junior Maccabi Games, hosted once more by the Kaiserman JCC?
The one-day event, held on May 3, attracted some 700 pre-teens from surrounding states — Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, New York and Maryland — testing their mettle for medals in a variety of sports.
It was a championship session for a number of Philly-area youngsters including tennis gold winners Olivia Schwartz (girls, Age 11); Mackenzie Sherman (Age 12); Josh Finkle (boys, Age 10); Ryan Klein (Age 11); and Garrett Spillerman (Age 12), all from Kaiserman.
Kaiserman also got into the swim of the meet, with Team Kaiserman taking gold in the sport.
On an individual level, Bucks County and Kaiserman swimmer took home a ton of medals.
For their teamwork, the boys and girls basketball squads from Montgomery County grabbed the gold while the Bucks County boy booters took gold in soccer and the girl kickers from Kaiserman scored tops in their field.
