Women Come Together to Celebrate Philanthropy

More than 300 women celebrated an evening of community, connection and tzedakah.

More than 300 women celebrated a fabulous evening of community, connection and tzedakah on Tuesday, April 14, at the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia’s Women’s Philanthropy group’s new Women’s Event, being called “WE.”
The event, chaired by Lisa Green, Jennifer Hoffman and Suzanne Feld, was held at Vie in Philadelphia. Guests enjoyed an elaborate cocktail reception, dessert program and entertainment by mentalist Sidney Friedman.
Israel360 alumna Samantha Eisenman led the crowd in “Hatikvah,” Israel’s national anthem, which was followed by remarks by Jewish Federation CEO Naomi Adler and Women’s Philanthropy president Holly Nelson, who shared a poignant story about how the Jewish Federation has helped her family.
The event brought together women from different generations, with several from Renaissance Group — the Jewish Federation’s affinity group for community members ages 22-45 — as well as new and seasoned Women’s Philanthropy members.
Marni Davis, director of Women’s Philanthropy, called the event a “great opportunity for women to share their philanthropy with their daughters.”
Guests were encouraged to bring toiletries for the Jewish Federation’s Mitzvah Food Project. In addition, more than $200,000 was raised for the Jewish Community Fund.
