Mentalist Sidney Friedman will entertain guests at the Federation's upcoming philanthropic Women's Event.

WE — the newest “Women’s Event” on the calendar of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia’s Women’s Philanthropy affinity group — is slated for Tuesday, April 14, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Vie, 600 N. Broad Street in Philadelphia.

Women’s Philanthropy Campaign Chair Jodi Miller touts the event as “an inspiring evening of community, connection and tzedakah.”

Miller says the evening is designed for women “of all ages and stages of life.” She anticipates “there will be a certain magic and excitement in the air, with all of us celebrating under one roof and appreciating a shared passion for helping others.”

Those who attend will enjoy an elaborate cocktail reception catered by Six Points Kosher Catering, followed by a dessert program featuring Sidney Friedman, who has been dubbed the “mentalist to the stars” by Forbes magazine.

Friedman has been featured on numerous television talk shows and written two inspirational books, Your Mind Knows More Than You Do and Mind Dynamics.

Guests will hear from Women’s Philanthropy leadership about the mission and values of the Jewish Federation and learn how to become more involved.

They will have the opportunity to practice tzedakah by bringing toiletries to the event which will be donated to Jewish Federation’s Mitzvah Food Project.

“We are excited about the prospect of women bringing their girlfriends, their mothers, their daughters, sisters, aunts and co-workers to WE,” Miller enthused. “We want this to be THE event for Jewish women across the Philadelphia area.”

WE is open to all women who have pledged $180 or more to the 2015 Jewish Federation Annual Campaign or do so during the event.

WE Chairs Suzanne Feld, Lisa Green and Jennifer Hoffman hope this campaign pledge will be a comfortable entry point for women interested in learning more about the programs that campaign proceeds help fund in Greater Philadelphia, in Israel and around the world.

“We hope that for many, attending the Women’s Event will be just the beginning of a long-term relationship with Jewish Federation and its Women’s Philanthropy affinity,”

Miller said, explaining that Women’s Philanthropy offers mitzvah projects, speaker events, leadership opportunities and fundraising events throughout the year to women in the community who give to the annual fund in their own name.

The couvert is $75 per person and complimentary valet parking is available. RSVP at: jewishphilly.org/we. Share the excitement using #WEJewishPhilly.
