A special ceremony was held to mark the renewal of a three-year federal grant for the RSVP program of the Klein JCC.
U.S. Rep. Chaka Fattah recently made a special appearance at the Klein JCC Center City Senior Program, held at the Jewish Community Services Building in Center City, headquarters of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, to make a major grant announcement: a renewal of the three-year federal funding for RSVP at more than $100,000.
The program, in cooperation with the Klein JCC in the Northeast, offers tutoring to at-risk children and places thousands of meals with homebound seniors, all with the help of close to 1,000 volunteers, many of whom are retired professionals.
The program receives funding from the Jewish Federation, the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging and the Corporation for National and Community Services.
The grant renewal announcement came during March for Meals Month.
