Past and present American beauty pageant winners travel to Israel for a tour of the Jewish homeland.
Just a week after a few Orthodox men refused to sit next to women on their El Al plane, disrupting the flight and causing a Jewish feminist author to speak out about her experience, El Al is back in the headlines — this time for flying American beauty queens to Israel.
Eleven past and present beauty queens from around the country flew to Israel as part of a tour arranged by The Face of Israel, a private organization that promotes the Jewish state by engaging influential decision-makers and opinion leaders, according to an Oct. 2 El Al press release.
During their tour, the beauty queens will meet with Miss Israel and her colleagues as well as members of the Israeli Knesset. They will also visit several cultural and biblical sites.
