Braun’s Passover Cleaning Spoils Phillies Home Opener

With three home runs and nine RBIs in his first two games against the Phillies, Ryan Braun must be enjoying his visit to Citizen's Bank Park.

Ryan Braun, the Jewish baseball star of the Milwaukee Brewers, must be aware that Passover is around the bend. He did some serious spring cleaning to ruin the Philadelphia Phillies' home-opening series at Citizen’s Bank Park.

After Monday’s initial home opener was postponed due to rainy weather, a sold-out crowd watched Braun launch three home runs and compile seven RBIs to lead the Brewers in a 10-4 rout of the Phillies.

The following night, Braun was back at it again with a two-run triple and a run of his own as the Brewers beat the Phillies again by a near identical score line of 9-4.

Thursday evening will mark the final game in the series between the two teams, and the Phillies will be happy to see the back of Braun.

Philadelphia fans booed Braun, who returned at the beginning of the season after a 65-game suspension for illegal drug use, at every one of his at-bats, according to an AP report.
