Demand for the Mitzvah Food Project’s hunger relief program has increased in the past six months and more volunteers are needed.
The Mitzvah Food Project was piloted in 1996 to alleviate hunger and malnutrition among at-risk families in the Greater Philadelphia region. Currently, the Mitzvah Food Project’s hunger relief program serves seniors and families through five sites located in Center City, Northeast Philadelphia, Wynnewood, Bensalem and Elkins Park.
Over the past six months, the demand for these services have increased and volunteers are needed to assist with walk-in clients, pack food and/or serve as drivers.
