Wendy N. Greenberg, 61, a linguist who headed up the modern language department and was a professor emerita at Penn State’s Lehigh Valley Campus, died Aug. 28.
Wendy N. Greenberg, 61, a linguist who headed up the modern language department and was a professor emerita at Penn State’s Lehigh Valley Campus, died Aug. 28.
The former Philadelphian lived in Fogelsville, Pa.
Greenberg held three master’s degrees — two from Columbia University; the other from Middlebury College — as well as a doctorate from Columbia in French culture and language.
The author of two books, she taught French and Spanish but, it was said, she could pick up a language quickly from locals when she traveled abroad.
She was a member of the board of Parkland Community Library and Congregation Am Haskalah in Bethlehem.
She is survived by her parents, William B. and Lois Greenberg; and a sister, Fran D.
