Barbara and Howard Samuels of Newtown announce the engagement of their son, Michael, to Nancy Vargun, daughter of Maya and Jeff Vargun of Holland, Pa.

Nancy earned a bachelor's degree in elementary and early childhood education from Holy Family University. She also completed a Master of Arts degree in education from Gratz College. Nancy is currently a fifth-grade teacher in a charter school.

Michael earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree from Temple University. He is a licensed equities and options trader in Philadelphia. Michael is also co-owner of BleedNation.com, a sports apparel and lifestyle website.

Sharing in their happiness are Michael's brother, Justin, and Nancy's sister, Kelsey.

The couple is planning a June wedding in Philadelphia.
