Tu B'Shevat Kabbalistic Seder & Potluck Dinner

January 15, 2014 6:30 PM
In the Middle Ages, Tu B’shevat was celebrated with a feast of fruits, in keeping with the Mishnaic description of the holiday as a “New Year” for the trees. In the 1600s, the mystic kabbalist Rabbi Isaac Luria instituted a Tu B’shevat seder, believing that eating 10 specific fruits and drinking 4 cups of wine while reciting blessings would bring spiritual perfection.

Join us in celebrating this tradition with a short kabbalistic seder. A festive vegetarian/dairy/parve Pot Luck Dinner will follow! For more information, visit www.bzbi.org.
