The Look — With Gratitude and Hope: A High Holiday Roundup

By Rebecca Brown

Last year at this time, we shared a roundup of Jewish designers and Israeli-owned businesses to show our support and give back to the Jewish community — and to stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Israel during a time of great need. Now, two years since the war began, we once again enter the new year with heavy hearts.

Yet alongside the pain, many of us carry a deep sense of Hakarat HaTov (gratitude) for family, friends and community that has only grown stronger over the past year. I’d like to think that it is in the zechus (merit) of this gratitude that we pray our chayalim (soldiers) return home safely and that peace will come swiftly.

On the Yomim Tovim, beyond honoring and enjoying the sanctity of the days, the Torah actually commands us: “And you shall rejoice in your festival … and you shall only be happy.” In that spirit, we hope this year’s High Holiday roundup, once again featuring Jewish designers and Jewish and Israeli-owned businesses, brings much simcha (joy) to your tables, your homes and your hearts.

G’mar Chatima Tova, may we all be inscribed in the Book of Life.
