QPR Suicide Prevention Training

From 9 to 11 a.m., JFCS will host a training on suicide prevention with NAMI Montgomery County. QBR (Question, Persuade, Refer) is an evidence-based training that teaches attendees how to spot warning signs of suicide and hopefully prevent it from happening. A perspective not often explored in Holocaust history is that of the Mischlinge, a derogatory Nazi term for people who are neither fully Jewish nor fully Aryan. October 8 Film Screening

From 7 to 9 p.m., Philadelphia Jewish Film and Media will present a film that looks at how the world has changed since the Oct. 7, 2023 massacre, particularly the explosion of antisemitism on college campuses in the United States. This citywide event to bring awareness to Philadelphia’s gun violence epidemic is sound-based, and this iteration brings a Jewish twist, too: shofars.
