Mehereta Baruch-Ron shared on Jan. 30 her story of growing up in Ethiopia and her journey of becoming Tel Aviv’s deputy mayor. After the lecture, Baruch-Ron joined student leaders from Haverford and Bryn Mawr colleges for a dessert reception. The lecture, hosted by Haverford College, attracted more than 75 students and community members and was a collaboration between Hillels in Philadelphia, Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, Jews in ALL Hues and Bi-Co Friends of Israel.
