Take Action Against Hunger on April 4
The Jewish community is urged to learn about current public policies on hunger and food insecurity during an educational program on Thursday, April 4, at 7:30 p.m., at Beth Sholom Congregation in Elkins Park.
The program, titled “Jewish Communal Action Against Hunger,” is sponsored by the Center for Social Responsibility of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, the Kehillah of Old York Road, the Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger, Mazon: A Jewish Response to Hunger and Elkins Park Hazon CSA.
Presenters include: Samuel Chu, director of Advocacy and Organizing for Mazon; Julie Zaebst, interim executive director of Coalition Against Hunger; and Brian Gralnick, director of Jewish Federation’s Center for Social Responsibility. Local legislators and policy makers have been invited to join in the conversation.
Following the presentations there
will be an interactive discussion on ways that the Jewish community can come together as advocates in Pennsylvania in the fight against hunger locally and globally.
