Samuel Herman, 74, Book-Publisher's Representative
Samuel Herman, 74, a longtime book-publisher's representative, died Sept. 14. Born in Philadelphia, he was a resident of North Wales since 1974.
At 17, Herman enlisted in the Air Force, where he was stationed in Wyoming, Montana and Japan, achieving the rank of sergeant.
For the past 45 years, he worked as a book-publisher's representative, first for Como Sales and then Workman Publishing.
He earned industry awards for salesmanship, and his advice was often sought concerning new books. He would often spot a bestseller long before it was published.
Herman had a deep appreciation for the written word, as well as for classic movies and television.
He is survived by his wife, the former Adele Ross; daughter Marjorie Wassermann; son Daniel Herman; sister P.J. Fineberg; and three grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Joseph Herman.
