Jewish Exponent Senior Staff Writer Jon Marks won second place in the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) Media Awards competition in the Beat Coverage for Weekly Newspapers category on legal-related matters.

Marks won for his coverage of the Jan. 18 inauguration of Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro: “Shapiro Sworn In as Attorney General; Vows to Restore Integrity to Office.” He and the other winners will receive cash prizes and a certificate at a Nov. 3 brunch during the PBA’s annual convention.

The award is sponsored by the PBA and the firm of Pietragallo, Gordon, Alfano, Bosick & Raspanti, LLP.  Winners were chosen based on their ability to foster greater public understanding of the legal system in addition to informing and educating on the roles of society and the law, the courts, law enforcement agencies and the legal profession.
