Sharon and Mitchell Kaplan of Merion announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica, to Daniel Someck, son of Lisa and Dennis Someck of Manhasset, N.Y.

The couple met while attending George Washington University. Jessica graduated cum laude, majoring in communications and is an account executive at K Public Relations LLC. Daniel graduated summa cum laude with a degree in finance. He works as a fixed income trader at BlackRock.

Jessica is the granddaughter of Harris Baum and the late Joyce Baum, and Arthur Kaplan and the late Betty Kaplan. Daniel is the grandson of Yvette Someck and the late David Someck, and the late Giovanni and Filomena Drago.

The couple, who lives in Manhattan, is planning a June wedding.
