Debbie Feith Tye of Rydal announces the engagement of her daughter, Drew Feith Tye, to Reuben Hillel Asia, son of Carolee and Daniel Asia of Tucson, Ariz.
Drew, the daughter of the late Cary S. Tye of Rydal, graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor's degree in Jewish studies and a minor in creative writing. This past year, she published her first book Here and Not Forgotten: Stories of a Wiser Generation, recounting the personal histories of eight elderly residents at the Madlyn and Leonard Abramson Center for Jewish Life in Horsham. Drew works as an admissions counselor at Temple University.
Reuben graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor's degree in political science and a minor in Middle Eastern studies. He worked for the U.S. Navy in Washington, D.C., for two years before returning to Philadelphia, where he is currently a first-year student at the Temple University Beasley School of Law.
Drew is the granddaughter of Rose Feith and the late Dalck Feith of Elkins Park; and Evelyn Simon of Bal Harbour, Fla., and Falmouth, Mass. Reuben is the grandson of the late Hilda and Benjamin Asia of Seattle; and the late Mary Grow and Norman Thompson of Central New Jersey.
The couple, who lives in Center City, is planning an October 2011 wedding.
