Ms. Nancy Slater of Philadelphia and Dr. Marc Salit of Chicago announce the birth of their granddaughter, Elena Christine Salit, on Nov. 20.

The parents are Dr. Kenneth and Dr. Mary Salit.

Sharing in their happiness are grandparents John and Rebecca Messall, and great-grandmothers Norma Slater and Ruth Salit.

Elena is named in memory of her great-grandfather Leonard Slater.
