David J. Adelman, chair of JFRE, the Federation affinity group for professionals in real estate or allied trades, invites JFRE members and prospective members to a complimentary networking breakfast at the Sugar House Casino, Philadelphia's newest entertainment attraction.
The Nov. 4 program, which begins at 8:30 a.m., will feature a private tour of the Delaware Avenue facility, plus an exclusive address from Sugar House CEO Greg Carlin.
"Carlin is flying in from Chicago to give JFRE members the inside scoop on the complex process behind the development of the City of Philadelphia's first casino property," says Adelman, who describes this event as a "prime example" of the networking, professional development, fundraising and community-service programming sponsored by JFRE throughout the year.
"We provide a forum for members to connect with one another and forge a deeper connection with the Greater Philadelphia Jewish community," he explains. "Through their involvement in JFRE, members discover how their volunteer and philanthropic support impacts critical community needs."
"JFRE is a great concept, and we intend to significantly grow our membership base in the future," says Adelman.
To date, JFRE boasts more 160 members, with a goal of 500 new members in the next two years.
Members participate in Mitzvah Mania, Federation's annual day of community service, and give tzedakah through their financial support of Federation and the JFRE Fund, which provides safe and sustainable housing for older adults.
"We take our commitment to building Jewish Philadelphia very seriously," says Adelman, emphasizing that JFRE members must make a minimum gift of $1,000 to Federation's 2011 campaign -- $500 for those under the age of 30 -- and must fulfill this obligation by Dec. 31, 2011.
Sponsors for the event are Blank Rome LLP and El Al Airlines.
Space is limited to the first 200 registrants. Registration and/or membership applications can be completed online at: www.jfre.net .
