Robert and Gayle Horn of Penn Valley, formerly of Voorhees, N.J.; and Harry and Linda Cook of Haverford announce the engagement of their children, Brittany Horn and Alexander Cook.
Brittany attended the William Penn Charter School, and graduated Hamilton College with a bachelor's degree in art history and government. She also holds a Juris Doctorate from the Rutgers University School of Law-Camden. Brittany is currently pursuing an LLM in Taxation from the Temple University Beasley School of Law.
Alex attended the Haverford Boys School, and graduated from Franklin & Marshall College with a bachelor's degree in business administration and a minor in Judaic studies. He is a principal in ZanderCo Investments and works for Toll Brothers Commercial.
Sharing in the couple's happiness are Brittany's grandmother Florence Horn, as well as her sister, Jillian. Also celebrating are Alex's grandparents Herbert and Charlotte Cook, and Richard and Joan Maack; along with his sisters, Ashley, Ali and Grace.
Brittany is the granddaughter of the late Elsie and Jack Wishnefsky, and the late Edward Horn.
The couple, who lives in Philadelphia, is planning an October 2011 wedding.
