Bob and Fern Helfer of Elkins Park announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa, to Stephen Shapiro, son of Lou and Ady Shapiro of Highland Park, Ill.

Melissa is the trade marketing manager covering North America for Air New Zealand. Steve is an online marketing consultant.

Joining in the couple's happiness are Melissa's sister, Rachel, along with their parents.

The couple, who met in New York City, currently lives in Newport Beach, Calif.
