Bernie and Eileen Yaffa of Cherry Hill, N.J., announce the engagement of their daughter, Susie Yaffa, to Jim Zaslavsky, son of Isaak and Betty Zaslavsky of Newtown.

Susie is a graduate of the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science. She is currently working for the Eli Lilly pharmaceutical company.

Jim is a graduate of the University of the Sciences, where he earned a master's degree in physical therapy. He also holds an MBA from St. Joseph's University and has recently finished a residency in orthopedic surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He is currently completing a fellowship in spine surgery at the Twin City Spine Center in Minneapolis.

The couple, who will live in Philadelphia, is planning an August wedding.
