Sandy and Jay Schinfeld of Melrose Park, and Alana and Harry Knaster of Pebble Beach, Calif., announce the engagement of their children, Eric Henry Schinfeld and Elizabeth Sarah Knaster.

Eric graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Pennsylvania, with a dual major in theater, and in philosophy, political science and economics. He is pursuing a Master of Public Administration degree at the University of Washington. Eric is the managing director of the Shunpike Arts Collective in Seattle.

Elizabeth, a cum laude graduate of Northwestern University with a major in comparative literary studies, is the community outreach and volunteer coordinator at Aradia Women's Health Center in Seattle.

Eric is the grandson of Irving and Rosalyn Gale of Delray Beach, Fla.; and Sybil Schinfeld and the late Dr. Louis H. Schinfeld of Boca Raton, Fla. Elizabeth is the granddaughter of Jean Knaster and the late Nathan Knaster of Tamarac, Fla.; and the late Bert and Belle Cohen of Rochester, N.Y.

The couple is planning a September wedding in Seattle.
