Alyssa and Jason Friedrich of Bethesda, Md., announce the birth of their daughter, Ellie Shoshanah (Malka Yael), on March 28. The baby is also welcomed by big brother Avi.

Sharing in the family's happiness are grandparents Charlene and Steven Oberman of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and Irene and Len Friedrich of Mount Laurel, N.J; along with great-grandmothers Fleurette Cooper of Coconut Creek, Fla.; and Ruth Sherman of Broomall.

Ellie Shoshanah is named in memory of her paternal great-grandfather Mort Sherman and her maternal great-great-grandfather Joseph Katz.
