Sam Bushman, 91, whose career as a press agent spanned close to 70 years, died Sept. 25. He was a resident of Rittenhouse Square.
A 1931 graduate of Northeast High School, where he also edited the school newspaper, the Megaphone, Bushman started working in publicity about a year later. He handled mostly nightclubs and supper clubs.
Among his many clients were D.J. Jerry Blavat, who hired Bushman in 1962, and publisher/philanthropist Kal Rudman.
Drafted during World War II, he ran a traffic center for an Army and Air Force installation in Oklahoma City.
Bushman is survived by his wife, the former Brenda Freedman, and a daughter, Esther.
