Michael Solomonov, one of Philadelphia’s most exciting restaurant owners and chefs, will address “The Food I Love to Cook & What It’s Done for Me in My Life.” Behind his success in the kitchen, is a story about his love for Israel and his brother.

Solomonov, the winner of the prestigious James Beard Award as Best Chef of the Mid-Atlantic region in 2011, was born in G’nei Yehudah, Israel and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. At the age of 19, Michael returned to Israel. With no Hebrew language skills, he took the only job he could get- working in a bakery - and a culinary career was born. Adding to the list of his restaurants, Zahav, Percy Street Barbecue and Federal Donuts, is Citron and Rose (a glatt kosher restaurant) which just opened in Lower Merion.
