The Jewish New Year is nearly three months old and Jan. 1 is just around the corner. Both holidays are rife with opportunities for personal reflections and resolutions.
Many of us resolved to be more selfless and share our time and resources to help those in need. Super Sunday is the ideal opportunity to act upon these resolutions.
Federation’s 2014 phon-a-thon — the single most important day of fundraising in our Greater Philadelphia Jewish community — is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 9, at the Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy in Bryn Mawr.
This year’s theme, “Super Sunday: It’s You & It’s Me,” personalizes the collective responsibility that we share for the health and well-being of our fellow Jews locally, in Israel and in the former Soviet Union.
The proceeds from this daylong event help assure that our Federation is able to feed those who are hungry, enable older adults to live in comfort and with dignity, connect young people with Israel, build Jewish identity and much, much more.
Event Co-Chairs Sheree and Wayne Bloch and Robin and Greg Zappin invite volunteers to sign up for either the morning, afternoon or evening shifts — anytime between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.
Food will be available throughout the day and evening to sustain hard-working callers.
