The Judaic Studies Program and the Deparment of English and Philosophy of Drexel University will host Nadia Kalman, author of This is Killing Your Mother: How Nice Jewish Boys (and Girls) Decide to Disappoint Everyone and Become Writers from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the Stern Judaic Studies Seminar Room in the Hagerty Library. Jewish authors frequently find themselves in opposition to their own families, both in their choice of career and in their subject matter. Kalman will discuss familial friction in the lives of Osip Madelstam, Adreinne Rich, Philip Roth and other writers, as well as speak about her own experiences.
