The National Pomegranate Guild Biennial Convention will take place on Sunday, October 6 and Monday, October 7, 2013, at the Embassy Suites at the Airport in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The theme of convention is “Interpreting Traditions Today.” The keynote speaker is Adrienne Segal-Kuperberg who will speak on "Jewish Ritual Objects: the Fabric of Our Lives" on Sunday night.
We will be offering a variety of different workshops in different techniques--e.g. "I Never Met a Challah Cover I Didn't Love" presented by Mae Rockland Tupa; "White Vine Design" with Deborah Kaplan; "Hebrew Calligraphy: The Structure of the Alef-Bet" with Sivia Katz Braunstein; "Willow Tree Needlepoint" with Erik Friedman; "Torah Mantles: a Talk & Demo" with Ita Aber. In addition, there are exhibitions entitled "Shabbat Heirlooms" and "Interpreting Traditions." On Tuesday, October 8, there is an optional tour of the National Museum of American Jewish History and a Mural Arts tour of the Immigrant experience.
