ELEANORE SERINSKY, a resident of Center City, died September 17, 2013 at the age of 98 surrounded by her family. As one of the first library supervisors of Philadelphia Public Schools, she pioneered the development of libraries in public schools. ELEANORE was a strong woman with a zest for life that was expressed in many causes, interests and talents. She was a prize winning weaver and loved classical music, the theater and supported the visual arts. With her husband, MICHAEL, she held a subscription to the Philadelphia Orchestra for 72 years and traveled the world with gusto. ELEANORE will be forever missed by all those she has left behind. Wife of the late MICHAEL SERINSKY, mother of JILL SAPERSTEIN (DR. LEWIS), MARC SERINSKY and LARRY SERINSKY (JEAN), grandmother of KAREN ESTRIN (NOAH), ADAM RAPPAPORT (DEBBIE), DAN SAPERSTEIN (DAPHNE LIMMER), DR. TODD SERINSKY(LAURA), LIANE SAFIER (SIMCHA), BENJI SERINSKY and SAM SERINSKY, great-grandmother of 11. Also predeceased by her sister SYLVIA PALEW and brother EUGENE SPRINGER.
