THE PUBLIC IS INVITED TO FREE “CHAIR ZUMBA” CLASSES FOR SENIORS THROUGHOUT MAY, JUNE AND JULY AT THE WATERMARK AT LOGAN SQUARE .
Watermark University will offer Chair ZUMBA classes at 11 a.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month, starting May 8. Watermark University classes are taught by residents and associates as their way of sharing their unique skills and passions with the community. The Chair ZUMBA instructor is a truly inspirational example. Jennifer Tapner, Executive Director of The Watermark at Logan Square, is a tri-athlete, a marathon competitor and Iron Woman who recognizes that physical fitness can be adapted for every life-stage. “Chair ZUMBA will use modified versions of the ZUMBA dance steps while our participants remain seated,” explained Tapner. “We’ll be using the upbeat, traditional style music and occasional props such as weights, towels and other devices to build strength and stamina. It adapts to chair exercise surprisingly well. I look forward to this too, as I often learn as much from my students as they learn from me!” Other free Watermark University classes this spring and summer include the Short Story Club, Line Dancing and French language lessons from a native French speaker. Space for the public is limited and advance registration is required. Registration and a full list of classes can be accessed by calling 215-240-8915.
