B’nai B’rith Educators Unit #5290 is honoring the following standouts in their field on May 2 at the Philmont County Club: Bonnie Berman, assistant principal, Richmond School; Harriet Burg, counselor, Adaire School; and Suzanne Newman, teacher, McCloskey School, with the Dr. Alan H. Barson Service to the Profession Award; Sara Landman, special education teacher, McClure School; and Andrea Miller, assistant principal, Hancock School and LaBrum Middle School, Service to the Jewish Community; and ADL’s No Place for Hate campaign, Humanitarian Award.
The Perelman Jewish Day School will be honoring the Saligman Family “for their visionary leadership,” at the school’s annual tribute, to be held on May 22 at the Academy of Natural
Sciences. To be honored are the late Robert Saligman; his wife, Alice; and their children, Carolyn, Ira, Peter and Laury. Also to be feted: the Saligman Foundation. Planned, too, that evening is a tribute to Jay Leberman, head of school who is leaving at the end of the school year to move to Israel.
Retired Judge Richard B. Klein of the Dispute Resolution Institute in Philadelphia will receive the Sir Francis Bacon Alternative Dispute Resolution Award on May 8 when the group convenes for its annual gathering in Pittsburgh.

Stephen Brandt of Roxborough High School has received a Lindback Distinguished Principal Leadership Award. Brandt is one of seven Philadelphia School District principals recognized “for their educational leadership and public service.” The honor comes with a $15,000 stipend.
