Fifth-grade students from Perelman Jewish Day School's Stern Center recently held an Invention Convention, where teachers encouraged the students to look closely at themselves and the world around them. Students read biographies of inventors and dressed like them as they explained, in the first person, the inventor's life and invention. Discussions also took place addressing the moral implications of inventing. The next step: Students must create an invention of their own! These will be showcased both for the entire school and for parents.
