Dr. Lee Levine, professor of Jewish history at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, offered a lecture on Sunday titled, "Does Archaeology Negate the Bible?" to more than 100 people at Har Zion Temple in Penn Valley. During his presentation, he examined and compared several time periods in biblical history with the archaeological finds that have either supported or conflicted with the Bible's narrative. "Archaeology does not always confirm what was in the Bible," he said, and added that for some events, "what we have, at best, is circumstantial evidence." His visit was part of the annual Charlestein Family Lecture Series and presented byCamp Ramah in the Poconos.
