Inside Bubbe’s Kitchen: Pancakes

The proportions are exactly as Bubbe told them to me.

Instructions/Ingredients:
Put some flour in a bowl.
Add a little sugar.
Add a bissel [little bit of] baking powder.
Add a drop of vanilla and a pinch of salt.
Mix.
Add an egg, some milk and a bissel of oil.
Beat until there are no lumps.
Pour batter into an oiled frying pan over medium heat.
When bubbles appear in the batter, it’s time to turn over the pancake. ■
