Norman R. Wiegand, Specialist in Addiction Recovery, ​Dies at 65

Norman R. Wiegand, 65, a counselor who helped hundreds of area residents, died Dec. 28 in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. He was a 32-year resident of Yardley.

Wiegand was a counselor in private practice for the past 20 years, specializing in addiction recovery and family-systems work.

Before committing to full-time private practice, Wiegand worked for Catholic Social Services, served as a probation officer and was the director of the Philadelphia Youth Development Center.

He was also a supervisor at Jewish Federation Day Care Services, Paley Branch.

Wiegand is survived by his wife, the former Phyllis LaSalle; daughter Natalie Wiegand; sons Philip Wiegand, Noah Wiegand and Ryan Wiegand; sister Teresa Wiegand Funk; and brother William Wiegand.
