No Gandhi's Here!
This past weekend, Hamas tried a different tactic. The Islamist terrorist group that governs Gaza announced its intention to mount a "nonviolent' demonstration along the border with Israel to highlight its demand that Israel open up its borders to trade with an entity that seeks to destroy it.
Unsurprisingly, the attempt to channel Mahatma Gandhi flopped, as few Hamasniks turned out. Later in the day, however, Hamas was back to business as usual. As soon as the demonstration ended, Kassam missiles were launched from Gaza toward Sederot, where more Israelis were injured.
If the Palestinians were to truly support nonviolence, Israeli counterattacks would cease. But if that happened, then a group like Hamas, with its platform being Israel's destruction, would loose its very reason to exist.
