New LGBT Perspective on Torah Study
New LGBT Perspective on Torah Study
Tuesday, April 23 at 7pm
A new two-part series examining the Torah, the sacred book of Judaism, will be held at Rodeph Shalom/Beth Ahavah beginning Wednesday, March 6 at 7pm. This groundbreaking series, exploring the book, Torah Queeries, will examine historical religious references to gay and lesbian relationships. Jessica Rosenberg, a second year student at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in Wyncote, will lead the program. "By reading Torah, studying contemporary commentaries, and bringing our own life experiences to both, we’ll start to create our own Torah queeries together," says Ms. Rosenberg.
The program is free and open to the public. Materials will be provided and light refreshments will be served. For more information: Heshie Zinman, 215-806-7977, hjzinman@gmail.com
