Martins Run Showcases the Work of Mordechai Rosenstein
The Artwork of Mordechai Rosenstein on Exhibit in Martins Run Art Gallery
From presidents to the Pope to Chaim Potok, many admire the artist’s work.
The Hebrew alphabet has never been more beautiful than in the hands of Mordechai Rosenstein, a local artist who has earned international acclaim. As part of the Spotlight Artist Series hosted by Martins Run, a senior living community located in Media, Rosenstein’s work will be displayed in the Martins Run Art Gallery from August 30 to September 29, 2013. The public is invited to view the exhibit, which has been arranged to coincide with the Jewish holidays.
On Sunday, September 8, Mordechai Rosenstein will be a special guest of Martins Run and present his opening, “My Journey as an Artist.” The event will begin at 6:30 pm with refreshments, followed by Rosenstein’s talk and slide presentation at 7:00 pm. Anyone who would like to attend should contact Martins Run at 610.353.7660 ext. 254 to reserve a spot.
By uniting his interest in Judaica and painting, Rosenstein has given new meaning to the art of Hebrew calligraphy. “The flowing forms of the letters have been an inspiration to me since my youth," said the artist, whose love of these forms is evident in every piece he creates, from synagogue interiors and tapestries to paintings, murals, silk screen prints, and stained glass.
Gifts and awards of Mordechai's works have been presented to President George Bush, President Yitzhak Shamir of Israel, authors Elie Weisel and Chaim Potok, the Pope, and many others. For Martins Run, Mordechai designed the logo and award for the community’s Leadership Award Celebration. For more about the artist, visit www.emeseditions.com.
The Spotlight Artist Series, which began in August 2012, was created to bring in local artists from the surrounding community to Martins Run, and to expose the residents, many of whom are artists themselves, to the talented works of these individuals through a rotating art display.
