The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia’s Main Event is always a large and spirited celebration, and this year was no exception. Nearly 1,000 people filled the Kimmel Center on Wednesday, November 15th to help us celebrate and honor the leadership of our Immediate Past President Bud Newman. The event decor was an homage to Newman’s farm in New Hope, complete with hay bales, pickled vegetables and even a very friendly goat named Gizmo. Following an emotional tribute to Newman from current Board Chair Susanna Lachs Adler and Jewish Federation President and CEO Naomi Adler, our guest entertainer, Jill Kargman, executive producer and star of Bravo’s Odd Mom Out, had the audience in stitches. This record-breaking event was a wonderful tribute to Newman and to the commitment of our greater Philadelphia Jewish communities.
