As I was looking through your March 5 edition, I came upon an article about how family stories shape service. Both of my parents, Sgt. Rose Blum and PFC Benjamin Blum, served in the Marine Corps in World War II. My father was a radioman who worked with a Navajo Code Talker, none other than Bill (Willie) Toledo, mentioned in the penultimate paragraph. What a coincidence! Although I have stories and photos from reunions of the 3rd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment in the 3rd Marine Division, I now have access to interviews with Mr. Toledo, thanks to your article.
