Mr. and Mrs. Morris H. Kornsgold of Philadelphia announce the engagement of their daughter, Helene M. Kornsgold, to Alon Z. Avital, son of Emma Avital of Bluffton, S.C. Rabbi Kornsgold, a graduate of Akiba Hebrew Academy of Lower Merion and a graduate of Barnard College and The Jewish Theological Seminary in New York City, works as director of congregational education at Temple Israel in Charlotte, N.C. Alon, a graduate from Solomon Schechter in Queens and a graduate of Queens College, works as an accountant in Stamford, Conn. An August wedding is planned.
