Jewish Exponent Reporters Honored with 2022 Simon Rockower Awards

Jewish Exponent reporters Sasha Rogelberg and Jarrad Saffren were honored on July 11 at the 42nd annual Simon Rockower Awards banquet in New Orleans.

The Rockowers were awarded for the best work in Jewish journalism in 2022.

Rogelberg won second place for excellence in interfaith relations reporting for the July 7, 2022, article, “This Is Spiritual Work; Religious Leaders Lay Blueprint for Reparations.”

Saffren won an honorable mention for excellence in writing about politics and government for the Oct. 20, 2022, article, “Josh Shapiro Versus Doug Mastriano.”

In addition, Rogelberg received a first-place award in feature writing for “The Legacy of Private Belmont” in the May 27, 2022, edition of Washington Jewish Week, a paper also owned by Exponent owners Mid-Atlantic Media.
