Jewish Author Ellen Frankel to Explore Women’s Quest for Spirituality

November 1, 2013 7:00 PM-November 2, 2013 3:00 PM

On Friday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 pm, acclaimed Jewish author and speaker Ellen Frankel will share her spiritual journey toward Buddhism and discuss pilgrimages — both internal and external. In a world biased against her short stature, Frankel discovered her strength and spirit during a pilgrimage to Nepal, where she climbed Mt. Everest.

On Saturday, Nov. 2, at 10:00 am, Frankel will read from her humorous semiautobiographical novel, Syd Arthur, and will talk about the challenges of cultivating the spiritual self in a world based on material values.

Both events make up the annual Samstone Lecture at Unitarian Universalist Church at Washington Crossing, 268 Pennington-Washington Crossing Rd., Titusville, N.J. Cost: $30 (Friday); $45 (Saturday, includes lunch); $60 (both days); and $25 for students (both days).

Both events make up the annual Samstone Lecture at Unitarian Universalist Church at Washington Crossing, 268 Pennington-Washington Crossing Rd., Titusville, N.J. Information: (609) 737-0515; register at www.uucwc.org. Full ticketholders (Friday and Saturday) will have an opportunity to meet Frankel at a dessert reception. Saturday session includes lunch.
