After reading Gerard Level’s opinion piece, I have to disagree with him. The reference to the “wandering Jew” no longer applies since the creation of the state of Israel.

Walking through the streets wearing a kippah or the Star of David in France can be an invitation to losing your life. When Rabbi Sebbag recommended that the youth seek safer grounds, he meant for them to be able to live and be able to express their Jewish selves. They can no longer do this in France, but they can in Israel.
